What we do

At DMD Home Inspector we strive to set the gold standard for home inspections in Southcentral Alaska. Using our industry-leading training and experience we complete a visual inspection of all aspects of the home.

When you’re purchasing a house, you’re excited and nervous. It can be daunting and exhilarating and everything in between. We know exactly what you’re going through and we have your back by providing an objective and professional consultation to help you make the best decision and have peace of mind. Whether you’ve purchased multiple homes or are a first-time home buyer we are here to help.

What to expect

Most residential home inspections take around 3 hours depending on the design and size of the property. The inspection will include a visual examination of the house from top to bottom. All accessible areas and house systems will be inspected. The information gathered and any deficiencies found are included in the final report and for our clients to use to make the best-informed decision possible for their investment. The inspection can provide both current homeowners and buyers with the necessary information to better maintain a home and keep maintenance costs manageable.

What a Home Inspection is not

Home inspections are not exhaustive, invasive, or destructive investigations. Hidden damage and issues are always a possibility, but home inspectors are trained to use small clues to identify problems and potential problems homeowners may encounter.

A home inspection does not have a pass or fail criteria. It is an objective professional report that provides the client with the information necessary regarding deficiencies found in the home. A home inspection is also not a code inspection, even though building code is used to guide many of the recommendations in the report.
